Hi everyone,

I am helping my best friend with building his new game pc. We made a list of all the parts. We used pcpartpicker and changed some prices to the prices here (only if they were cheaper) And we would really appreciate some thought on our list. Thanks! :D

The theme is black with a little white touch xD

Further information:

1. Budget & Location = Around 900 euro's & we live in the Netherlands (german pcpartpicker is fine)

2. Aim = Gaming and a little bit of school work

3. Monitors = 1080p monitor

4. Peripherals = nothing needed

We have 2 questions:

- Are 2 case fans enough?

- We know we don't have a ssd in the build. We did not get in fit in this build so maybe with some help? Otherwise he will buy it later or wait a month longer before building. (for a 120GB or 250GB ssd)

If you have any question feel free to ask them! :D

Thanks in advance!

You could maybe get a slightly cheaper PSU to try and get some money for an SSD. Not entirely sure about EU pricing, but my 600W semi-modular PSU was only $60.

And how is your copy of Windows 10 only €11.95???

Two case fans is probably fine. But if you see thermal issues down the road it isn't too hard to toss some more fans in there.

I know its weird but the cheap Windows 10 copy works! xD Which PSU do you own? its not bronze certified right?

The 6 core 12 threats have no use for gaming? Im a N00b at those things so please explain :)

Most games are lightly threaded so they do better with fewer more powerful (faster/higher IPC) cores than with more less powerful ones. There are a few exceptions, but not many.

Just now, charrst said:

Most current games focus more on single-thread performance.

But the R5 1600 has single-threaded performance comparable to the i5-7500 with significantly better multi-threaded performance. As time goes by more games will be able to make use of more threads, so I would recommend the R5 1600 over the i5-7500.

The argument that more and more games will start using more threads has been made for the last 10 years. So far there does not seem to be a stampede in that direction.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
