I wanted to do an RGB build with the Ryzen 1700 and an Asus X370 Pro. Most of the parts I have are Aura compatible and the Aura compatible G.Skill Trident Z RGB caught my eye. I checked the motherboard compatibility and it said that the RGB ram wasn't compatible. However, the non-RGB version of that (I think) Is compatible. I have also seen someone build a Ryzen 1800X build on the ROG crosshair VI using the 32GB version of that RGB ram and when I checked the Crosshair VI compatibility, the ram they used didn't show up on that list. So, would I be able to stabally use16GB Trident Z RGB ram?

As of now, G-SKILL does not officially advertise compatibility of Trident Z with AM4 platforms.

There have been a lot of recent BIOS updates, however, that have dramatically improved RAM compatibility with AM4 platforms, so a lot of RAM that isn't officially supported has now been found to work.

That said, the lack of official compatibility means you should probably go with something that is definitely compatible, like G-SKILL Flare X.

I'm using Gskill RGB on my Gigabyte AX370 with no issues other than the usual early Ryzen stuff aka stuck at 2933mhz and not 3200mhz.

It's fine, and will get better
