If you want ultimate silence Noctua is a way to go. Otherwise the already stated Hyper 212 Evo is a good choice as well. Arctic Cooling is another company that makes very silent coolers (from experience with my Freezer Xtreme)

Hyper 212 EVO for low price, Be quiet! shadowrock for medium price range, and Noctua NH-D14 for expensive but best performance.

All three are fairly quiet and effective. Obviously the CM being the loudest and NH-D14 being quietest.

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a cpu cooler that's good at its job? My stock one is fairly quiet but its on its way out I can hear a nasty clicking noise from the fan.

What is your budget, because if you just want PURE silence and the stock cooler is enough cooling, you could look into passive.  It won't cool as well as those that have been suggested, but it will be the quietest option.  You could even do liquid with no fans (AIO or custom loop).

Any of the BeQuiet! heatsinks are pretty much the quietest CPU coolers on the market. Or the Enermax ETS-T40-TB or the Silverstone Argon AR01 with some decent aftermarket fans would also be a great quiet option.

TBH never heard of enermax, think I'm going to go for a be quiet heatsink as they seem to be value for money and will match my system.

Thanks everyone.
