I can plug a displayport 1.2 cable into a 1.4 connector without problems?

There is no such thing as a 1.2 or 1.4 cable. The cables are identical.

I am thinking of getting the asus predator X34 bmiphz. I need to find a displayport 1.4 cable from amazon for my gtx 1080 ti. Can anyone link me to one? I cannot find one because all the cables are labled 4k, not by their displayport version. (I would prefer if the cable is prime eligible.)

Thanks,

dylants

There is no difference between DP cables, so get whatever you want then.

Why?

Oh so cables are the same and connectors are different?

The connectors are also the same. It's the controller that's different.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, the X34 uses DP 1.2 anyway.

It does use displayport 1.2.

If I understood you correctly, I can plug ANY displayport cable into my gtx 1080 ti and the monitor, which both have different displayport versions, should be fine...? Is that correct or no?
