so my brothers computer decided to act up and refused to POST with weird beeping sounds.

after some troubleshooting i found out that it seems to be RAM issues.

he has a core i3 3220 on a B75 board with a 4x2gb kit of DDR3 1333 in there and two sticks appear to be dead (tested on my own mainboard).

no big deal right? just put new sticks in and all should be great again, right? wrong!

the board rejects every other RAM stick i put on it and will only POST with the two working sticks of the original kit in certain slots ... A1 and B1 ... and even when i take the stick that was in A1 and put it into B1 and the B1 stick into A1 the board will not POST. running one of the two sticks without the other also does not POST.

how is that possible ?

i had boards with bad ram slots before but it was more like a slot either worked with a good stick or not.

gaming on a computer that only works with 4gb sucks, so, does anyone have an idea how to fix this ?

i ordered a used 1155 board but it was DOA and buying a brand new board + cpu is not an option at the moment so we are kind of stuck here for now
