Would this be enough speed?

I'm pretty sure the answer to my question is no, but I am going to be taking an 8 hour trip and the car we are taking has a feature to get wifi for a limited amount of time. The only issue is I belive it is 3g. I would love to be able to play multiplayer on Mario Kart 8 deluxe or 7 but I'm assuming it won't be fast enough for that. It should be fast enough for web browsing though, right?

Gaming uses very little bandwidth and mainly needs latency. Speed should be fine but latency is on the high side. Should work though.

It really should work? Would there be any lag you think? Also would my mom be able to web browse at the same time?

Lag probably depends on how good of a connection. 

 

3g in good cases can get 7mbit down with less than a 50ms latency. 

 

But if your anywhere where the connection isn't as great it will suffer. 

 

If your in a car id suggest just playing a single player game as your switching towers a lot and the connection is inconsistent
