Hey, I just recently bought MSI PE gtx 670 card. It works almost flawlessly, expect for one problem. It seems to randomly cause wierd crashes. Sometime when playing battlefield 3 the game seems to minimize back to desktop, however mouse is not responsive like it would still be in game alt tabbing allows my mice to work again but the game still stays at task bar and if you click it the mouse goes unresponsive again. This also happens in other games, but not like this. In arma 2 it just crashes to black screen and then to desktop, game still in task bar Sometimes while running heaven benchmark it crashes with video driver stopped working, has also happened to few of my games. I have checked evertyhing. Temperatures ae good, usualy around 60 fps during load, it should get enough power from my current antec HCG 620 psu, i noticed that during the crash gpu-z power consumption reported max value at nearly 300% while before it howers around 100 % without any significant peaks.

My current rig:

i5-3570k @ 4.1 ghz

asus p8z77-v lk motherboard

16 gb of kingston 1600 ghz blu memory

asus xonar dgx sound card

MSI GTX 670 Power Edition

Antec HCG 620w power supply

Motherboard, cpu and ram are bit older than the psu and gpu, and they where working perfectly before. I haven't noticed any artifacts or other anomalies while playing, games work fine over 60 fps maxed out.

Tryed both of your suggestion, neither worked. Tried to delete nvidia drivers and made sure amd drivers where uninstalled, it is factory overclocked yes so i tried to lower the clock, didnt work, i tried to add voltages, didnt work, tried the power setting didnt work.

Would there be any way to test if the problem lies in somewhere else like the psu?

don't wanna be the spoilsport here, but i had 2 bad Gainward 670 phantoms ( in stock, no overclockin so far) after another ...i ran benchtests for hours to get a bulletproof result... my advice, run benches against a card ( perhaps from a friend ) that is clearly ok...or send the card back on warranty... but i know how much pain it is to run in such a problem.

recently bought stuff goes directly to my seller...usually i get a direct replacement...in this particular case, i got a new card prompt from the shelf as a gesture of goodwill; the second card was sent in for RMA to Gainward with my instructions and bench results by the shop...your shop clerks deal with the wholesalers and manufacturers all the time, so it would be easier for you to let them take care of it...

IMPORTANT!: try a 4.2ghz overclock with 1.175v in your bios, i had a similar problem. z77 does not like 4.1ghz, trust me. just try this
that would be hilarious ! i got my tests done by Z77 + 3770K ( all in stock )...

Okay this is wierd, returned the card, it came out back, said it was all fine (they had run furmark and heaven bench for over day), so i replaced my hd 4870 with it, first it seemed to work fine but nope, same problems started to accoure.

ideas? It doesnt then seem to be the gpu, but system seemed to work fine with 4870......
