Hi,

I'm looking at getting a new MacBook Pro 13" w/o Touch Bar with the following specs:

Intel Core i7 @ 2.4GHz 16GB of Ram 512 GB SSD

With this Mac, I plan on using Logic Pro X with no more than 20 Tracks and maybe learning how to use XCode. I will also run boot camp with no more than Finale 25 running within it. I am curious would this Mac last me another 7 years through University for someone majoring in Music Education? I know I will need dongles and I plan I getting a vinyl skin for minor protection to scratches from DBrand. Thank You.

it will depend, 2016 MacBooks might not live up to the mac legacy but  2015 MacBook pro, easily.

Later in the post I said Logic Pro X, Finale 25, Avid Pro Tools, and Minor video/audio Extracting.  I know I'll be living some sort of dongle life.

Okay, but can you elaborate on why?  I need something portable. and these specs okay? I'm limited to $2400 with software.

So dGpus are going to help the video right?  What about audio? I don't need to worry right that will be okay? All the Macs with dGpus are out of my range are refurbs by apple?
