Input through Charging grip

I was wondering if anybody knows whether or not you can send the joy-cons' input through the charging grip to a PC without the need for Bluetooth. When I plugged the charging grip into my PC windows recognized the grip as the grip in the device manager thing. And when i went to x360ce it recognized the joy-cons as 2 separate controllers, but their inputs were lost somewhere. Also interestingly enough, I think x360ce also recognized the grip itself as a controller, and that one was marked green as if it should have been working, but still no inputs were coming through. 

 

*side note: I know Bluetooth adapters are only like ten bucks on amazon but that isn't the goal here.
