I have an EVGA 780ti SC that I bought back in the summer of 2014. At the time it ran at about 75 degrees under prime95 small FFT + Unigine Heaven load. Now, it runs at 80 degrees. This is immediately after I did a thorough cleaning of the entire computer using a dust blaster. It isn't throttling, I was just wondering why this would be the case? I never OCed the GPU because it maxed out at +30mhz on the core and the 0.5 frame difference felt a bit silly, and my CPU has not been overclocked any more than the 4.4ghz I was already running with. Does anyone ahve any ideas as to why my GPU is running 5 degrees hotter under load?

PS: It may be worth mentioning I have gone from a 1080p monitor + 768p monitor to a 1440p monitor + the same 768p monitor.

Replace the thermal paste (I recommend Arctic MX-4 because it is non conductive and non capacitive) ;)

Try replacing the thermal paste with new stuff. After a while, the thermal paste goes bad (I don't know how, it just does.. I think.) Noctua NT-H1 is good for GPU's, works for mine at least.

I've used AS5, and while it never killed any of my graphics cards, it CAN. If it gets anywhere on the PCB you might have issues, since it's electrically conductive.

Just now, SlaughterSmurf said:

I already have a tube of arctic silver 5, would that work?

Yeah definitely, just don't add too much because Arctic Silver 5 is slightly capacitive :D
