Ryzen Predator 3200

Hey, I just got ryzen system and cannot pass 2400 mhz. Kit is capable of doing 3200mhz CL16. Mobo Asus x370 Pro updated BIOS to 0604 still can't pass 2400mhz. Any ideas?

I think BIOS updates are helping users to reach higher ram speeds, so you could try that.

But 0604 is the latest version from official asus webpage

Sorry didnt check, other than that I dont know. Just wait and update the BIOS as much as possible

Did you check RAM compatibility? You should be able to find list of supported RAM for your motherboard and at what speed they should run.

Yeah I found that it should run 2133mhz and I am currently got 2400. But it will improve over time yeah?

It depends. We all hope so, but not sure if it's doable.

Specific RAM sticks are capable of 3200MHz right now and I'm not sure if they can somehow make non B-die and dual rank DIMS to work at that frequency aswell.

I have no idea what's the limitation with RAM and Ryzen, so I can't say for sure.

 

We did see improvements in last 1 month, but how much further can they improve it? Ask AMD

The board is rubbish 2 of mine have died and I can't run 3866mhz ram above 2400mhz either. Got some gskill to test but boards still at rma.

What have you done with those boards lol

It's a bit weird that 2 motherboard died so fast.

They brick themselves. 1st one was working fine 1 day then next day it won't post at all. 

 

2nd one was running fine with 1800x, then I put a 1500x in and it wouldn't turn on, so I put the 1800x back in and that didn't turn on either. 

 

I have never encountered such a crap board tbh.

That was some very bad luck for you mate.

I hope not all all motherboard for Ryzen are that unlucky

Yeah but there are known issues with this board and the crosshair vi if you look in the owners threads. There were at least 5 people had various Asus boards die within the first couple of days.
