I'm having an issue I wanted some old remminsance so I decided to Minecraft specifically version 1.8.4 and I'm having horrible fps around 45 fps on the lowest possible settings and I have no understanding of why 

System Specifications:

Amd fx 8320e overclocked to 4ghz at 19°C on average

A ROG STRIX Rx 480 8gb card at about 40°c

14gb of ballistic sport at 1600mhz 

A cx 650 watt power supply 

Msi 970 pro gaming 

A 500 gb WD hard drive and a spare 300gb Seagate drive I run an IOS minutes 1920x1080p res via HDMI 

I get over 100fps in games like soma

Try using Optifine. Also reinstall drivers. Also did you try the newest 1.11.2?

Make sure Java is up to date.

I get almost 60 at low quality on the the newest and this is about my 5th driver reinstall using crimson relive and optifine seems to have little to no effect

Running the latest 64 bit and I have dedicated 8gbs

Minecraft is a game that is VERY dependent on single-core performance, which is what AMD FX processors struggle with.

Try taking cores away from the game.

Then add the cores back. 1.8 is strange, it's the first minecraft versions that has multi-threaded rendering.

I had actually attempted it on 1.11.2
