One of my brothers is casually arguing with me over what makes it easier for our bodies to adjust to the cold water of the swiming pool. He thinks you shouldn't exercise too much because your body heats up creating more temperature difference. I think by exercising more you increase blood flow rate which makes adjustment to the water easier and quicker.

Or maybe it makes no difference if you get worked up or a little?

Why don't you perform an empirical experiment and find out which works better?
