Overwatch 1080p

Go to solution Solved by MVPernula,

A common issue with Overwatch is the "Render scale" which is by default set on "Automatic". This messed up my expectations for FPS.

Put it on 100% EVEN if it says "Automatic 100%" becuase it changes continously and you should be fine.

Sometimes it goes above 100%, "stealing" fps in exchange of quality.

So I have the build listed below running a Intel Core i5 6600k at 4.4GHz and a GTX 1070 at 1950MHz, when I play Overwatch at 1080p I was expecting 140-160 FPS like other people I know and I'm getting around 110-130, is my CPU bottle necking my graphics card? I play on Ultra and used to play at Epic but I went down to Ultra for those FPS, now I get around 130 avg, with my cpu running at around 45% and I used to get around 100-110 FPS on Epic settings, I have a 144hz monitor I run the game on so I would like the fps but I was just curious about the CPU

CPU should be fine. A OC 7700k would probably give you like 5fps more but nothing to worry about. Are all your settings EXACTLY the same as in the benchmark you refer to?

the benchmark was done at ultra settings and I am seeing people talking about their 1070 hitting 150 and it's driving me nuts because I thought I had a set up more capable or as capable for Overwatch at these FPS

Maybe they were OCing there GPU, had better cooling, used an aftermarket version better than yours, ect.

i guess it was the render scale, automatic was set to 141%

my fps now is closer to 230 now thank you so much! I thought my performance was getting hit somewhere, I can play diablo max settings 1080p with 20% usage on cpu and 30% on gpu xD so this was blowing my mind
