SD card wear

So I bought a 64 GB EVO SD card for my laptop So I could install Sims 3 and have storage for everything else on my laptop. After digging into some research about how would the EVO react to games I keept seeing comments that said that SD cards wear out fast from things like gaming. Heck someone said in 12 hours of usage for gaming the SD card died on him. Should I be worried about wear and tear on my EVO SD card or would I be fine gaming off it in the long term?

As long as you're not writing constantly to it, then it's like any other SSD.

It's an SD card.

Alright, should be fine then, Sims 3 does do a little bit of both and I play that for like 4 to 6 hours straight but its more heavy on reads than writes
