So I bought the RAZER LEVIATHAN and it came with both optical and a 3.5 cable I'm assuming that the optical is better? This is a first for me never saw or read about this sounds great very happy with it so far and since it goes with my keyboard and mouse pad the desktop is nice and clean only thing that sucks is the lighting is not controllable with Synapse

HaHa fair enough, so from what I've read optical is practical if you have RF issues as it can't cross over to interfere with an optical input, if that a fair assessment? Any other benefits in the technical side of it?

It can theoretically, but highly unlikely. The design of the circuit behind the optical transmitter and the quality of the components can add the RF into the optical audio but usually these are discreet circuits.

You can use the optical port and keep the 3.5mm free to use as a direct way to plug in something. Otherwise for the most part, it doesn't really matter.
