Hey guys,

So my little brother is trying to play minecraft on his machine and for some reason it lags incredibly bad, whilst he can somehow play League of Legends at 60fps no problem.

His laptops running a Core i5, 8GB ram, intel graphics, ssd. The machine is only 6 months old.

Any suggestions on how to fix this for him?

Thanks

allocate more RAM to minecraft?

in the launcher there should be an option to edit profile (or something, don't quite remember) and there should be something that says XMX or XMS 1G. change that to 2G or 3G if you want to allocate more RAM.

other than that, just turn down settings.

load less chunks would be my advice.

Regardless of what people think, Minecraft is actually quite a struggle to run smoothly although you should be seeing more than 5fps.
Running on integrated graphics won't help.
Turn the graphics right down, turn view distance down.
