I'm pretty new to building comps so would like to apologize ahead of time.

 

To save money, I plan on reusing some spare parts.

 

All prices are in CAD

 

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 - $299

CPU Cooler: Stock

Motherboard: ASRock AB350 Pro4 ATX - $114

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB DDR4 3200 - $170

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" SSD - $130

HD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM - $62

 

$775 CAD

 

Spare parts:

Case: Antec 900 mid tower gamer case 900 ATX 9 drive bay

Power Supply: Corsair TX750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 140mm fan

GPU: own

 

I'm looking to potentially save some more money (cheaper memory?).

 

Also wondering if the old case and power supplies will work well with this build.

The case and PSU will be no problem. Everything is standard ATX so everything is compatible. 

 

You could probably get by with 2666 memory, overclock it to 2933 or 3200 yourself. 2933 vs 3200 isn't that big of a deal, so...

I was talking about Ryzen. 

 

Barring a couple of exceptions (Battlefield 1, Ashes of the Singularity), Ryzen doesn't seem to care about 2933/3200 that much in these benches. 2133 and 2400 do have a major drop-off though

ah true. I missed that part. And even for those games the diff is marginal
