Back in 2013 Black Friday I bought my first gaming pc from office max for $499. Tell me what parts to keep, sell, or trash.

The game I play most is minecraft. It is practically the only game I play. In that game I record to catch hackers / cheaters so I need my computer to run high fps while recording. Could I do some basic upgrades for around $600. If $800 is what it takes for a good computer I can fork it over but only if it considerably helps performance. I made a post on a minecraft forum and I got this information.

Original post:

I currently have a Lenovo y50-70 laptop from 2014. (Specs are here: http://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/lenovo-y50-70-touch  ) I have been using that to great success for 3 years but I have noticed some problems occurring because it is getting older so I need to start thinking of upgrading my older PC.

What I need the computer for:
I like to use replay mod to catch hackers (seriously I use it to catch hackers). I get 70 fps normally and 20 with replay mod. This low fps can be a problem.

120 fps with replay mod preferred. (Recording mod)

Here is the product page. http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/848252/HP-Envy-Desktop-PC-AMD-A10/

Here are some more detailed specs. (Very very very detailed) http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03782932

Given these stats tell me what I should upgrade.

Thanks for all the help guys. I have no idea what to shop for when building / buying a computer.

Definitely upgrade the motherboard, it has an fm2 socket which is old as heck and limits the CPUs you can get to really awful old ones. The case is pretty poor and won't be very good for a gaming pc. The Power Supply is old and low wattage, so you'll need to replace that too.

Unfortunately a new motherboard also means you need new RAM, which is expensive.

Upgrade the CPU, Motherboard, Case, Power Supply and add a Graphics Card. That's about it. Keep the Hard Drive.

Here's a few screenshots of what I've found online about the pc from the sale ads. http://m.imgur.com/ZBaqKdJ,rxsDHJo,UG7QrKm,Nu4P0BJ

I chose a CPU which is great at multi-tasking, if you are streaming or recording it will be a breeze whilst still getting very high FPS in Minecraft.

If you won't be playing intensive games at ultra settings or at 1440p+ get this card instead:
https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Rad...TF8&qid=1492374951&sr=1-2&keywords=rx+480+8gb

It drops the price down to $800.

Please put this into a PCPartpicker list. Just makes it easier to view.
