Here is $1000,

I only have a couple requirements and needs

1. Case has to be a Crystal Series 570X RGB ATX Mid-Tower Case w/Corsair SP120 RGB 3-Pack w/Controller 52.0 CFM 120mm Fans ($230 combined)

2. Should be able to overclock, ( I want to try to overclock a PC, figured now would be a good time)

3. Doesn't need a big storage drive ( I already have two, 1 Tb, usb's which will be permanently stuck, used to store files)

4. Should be able to play some games like Minecraft, etc at  +40 fps

5. Doesn't need a lot of random access memory ( if the build impresses the client, he is willing to spend more on these parts)

6. Monitor can only reach 1080p

The main aims of the build are

- To play average games

- To open files/games/videos quickly

- To render hour long videos

- To look cool af (btw, i haven't researched into water cooling at all, is it possible?)

This is a start-ish ( though its too expensive)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HjCXNN

EDIT: If you can, please modify the build in the link to $1000. I don't really know where to cheap out on.

Don't buy a GTX 970 for 369$. You can get a GTX 1070 for about the same price.

I would recommend an  AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (or 1600 if the 1700 is too expesnsive) if he wants to render hour long videos. Keep in mind that you dont need a X370 motherboard to overclock Ryzen, B350 allows overclocking as well.

look, i get that you want the pc to look good, but a case that takes up almost 20% of your budget isn't a good solution. look at something like the DIYPC J21-W or depcool dukase instead.

1.- If you're going to overclock, don't get a budget cooler, or at least get cryorig h7 and not the cheapest on the market. I recommend to get aio like h100i.

2.- If you're going to purchase a 6th gen, you don't have to get Z270 board, Z170 will work fine (also, that's a very expensive unnecessary motherboard, MSI Z170A M5 has literally same things for less money)

3.- GTX 970, please... You can get it from 190$ on eBay... For 370$, you could get r9 fury x or gtx 1070 (which is 33%/55% better)

4.- If i were you, i'd buy windows 10 from kinguin which is abour 30$ but it's optional since some people don't trust on these sites.

I think you are confusing B350 with B150/B250 from Intel, which cant OC.

Intel Build, it's $50 over budget but very hard to cut back anymore if you want a decent overclockable system.

AMD Build, 6Cores/12Threads, fits within your budget and personally think it's a better build if your gonna be doing video rendering. If it's my money, I would personally go with this build.

The RX470 performs about the same as a GTX970, but uses less power, half the price and you can use freesync if you get a freesync monitor in the future. Also get your windows 10 from kinguin, it's $34 for Win10 Pro.
