I'm new to building computers and my brother who has built a couple has been kind enough to help me out with this except neither of us have any idea of what the problem could be right now. I have an msi z170a tomahawk ac motherboard, hyperx fury single stick 8gb memory, 6th gen intel i5 processor and GTX 1060 graphics card (also obviously a powersupply and hard drive I just don't think they are relevant to the issue) When I turn the computer on I get no display on the monitor and the CPU error light turns on on the motherboard, so to check the processor we tried it in my brothers' working computer and it functioned as intended which we found weird to start with as we knew the CPU was compatible with my motherboard. Next we checked the memory specifications and found it wasn't compatible so we thought with the arrival of the new RAM I mentioned above it would be problem solved. (Everything I have was bought off amazon so I'd like to think they are a reliable seller) When the same issue of no display occurred I decided to call the company producing the memory,Kingston, who assured me the RAM I currently had was compatible with my motherboard. They also suggested trying it in my bro's PC as it was also compatible with his motherboard too and of course it worked. Now we are really confused as with the CPU error light still on whenever we turn the computer on ,and we have taken the processor out and put it back in multiple times, we really don't know where to go with this. I forgot to mention we don't think its the graphics card as when we use the HDMI port off the graphics card the monitor does respond before showing the no signal message. Any ideas?

What is the processor its an i5 what?

also can you send a Picture? its worth a 1000 word you know

Is your CPU fan plunged in?

are all you power connections plugged in the 8 pin on the top 20+4 pin on the side and the 6/8 pin on your GPU?

Did you put thermal past on your cooler?

and if you took the processor out multiple time did you bend any pins on your motherboard?
