Hey there everyone. Thanks for taking the time here.             Attached is a picture of 4 builds I have layed out

Those labeled "Cheap" I'm focusing more on performance, where as in those labeled "Cool" are also built for looks. Some of the prices listed are here and there, but for the most part should be fairly accurate from Amazon and Newegg.

As I started the list, I was originally planning on building the "Intel Cool". I can be a cheapskate, Which is how I arrived at, "Do I reeeaallllyy need a computer that looks that good too?" Keep in mind, I think it would look super rad.

While the savings with the "Cheap" builds isn't a whole lot, If i decide that route, my choices are either: pocket the savings, upgrade to 1080, upgrade to 1080TI, or some other upgrade you might suggest. (I have listed some components I could consider, on the side of the lists)

Location: USA

Budget: I tried to make everything bang for buck already, without dropping much performance. I can go a little over the prices of the builds that are listed, just keeping Cool and Frugal in mind.

Aim: Normal gaming. Cant say how hard just yet. Currently play League of Legends, mmorpgs. So I know I could get away with a 1060. But I wanna keep my options open and also future proof. I dont really plan on upgrading for a while

Monitors: As you saw, they are 24" 1920x1080 144hz. Doing that because I dont want to spend too much on a monitor at the moment. The Predator is just a placeholder because I still have to do more research into freesync and gsync(If I can game good without them, what frames I have to stay in/what hertz monitor I need to be able to avoid tearing/lag) I am opting for under 4ms response time. Keeping 1440p and dual monitors in mind for the future.

Why: My computer right now is running just fine, so I dont REALLY need to upgrade. But I've gotten into the building hobby(or the idea, since I havent built one yet). I watch all these youtubers, etc. (You guys are LTT are spectacular, my favorites!) So yeah I wanna build one. Plus my little brothers computer suuuucckkkss, so I'm gonna give him my current one.

NOTE: You might laugh or say why am I posting so soon, but I really like to do research and I guess im just getting ahead of myself. But im gonna be buying all the parts on Black Friday/Cyber Monday 7 months from now(I'm cheap). I know a lot can change in that time, but hey, lets see how this goes. Also gives time for me to see how the Ryzen vs Intel plays out more. Because right off that bat you can say, "If you're just normal gaming, why do you need a 1600" but its kinda cheaper than the 7600k and can do other stuff better(I think) in case I ever get into streaming or other stuff.

Well thanks SO much if you've read through all my blabbering, I really appreciate it. Let me know if I've missed something. And what you think of the builds, what you would change/keep, and anything else. Stay Classy!

can you make a pcpartpicker link of the rigs? would of been faster then what you did in the first place with accurate prices

I chose this style so that I(and others) can see them side by side, and thought it would be easier. If partpicker lists would be easier, I can make an account and do that. Sounds like you're saying I can do 1 link for the 4 rigs, so Ill check it out. As for prices I wanna order as much as I can from Amazon, because Ill have free shipping, credit card money back. So I dont mind spending some more to buy at amazon, except when the price difference is pretty big, then I went to newegg

EVGA B2 could shave money off. It's quite a good unit, essentially a semi-modular G2 - same manufacturer, same everything. Even when reviewed it was tested under 80+ Gold standards and got through.

I dig your builds guys. Definitely gonna look into them.

I forgot to put in the build that the ssd was 960 evo m.2 which does 3200mb read 1500mb write to the 850 evo's 540mb read 520 mb write. But now that I think about it. while it probably is worth the $30, I wouldnt really need it to go that fast.

So question on the case. Ive seen around and also seems like the S340 elite might have some airflow problems seeing as how there is no side ventilation just a little on the top and bottom. For the builds I did with just a 1070. But running a 1080 or 1080ti. Do you think it'll stay cool enough and have enough airflow for the cpu?

I feel like I know what the answer is, and have probably seen people running same parts in same case, lol. But just thought i'd ask

well, thats a crappy psu and i think that the i7 would have hugely more performance against this xeon (by 25%)

it should be fine with a 1080 or 1080Ti, they can cool themselves really fucking well, surprisingly.

Thanks everyone. Believe it or not, all really helpful.

One thing while I have you here. As mentioned, new to pc building and such. So overclocking is just a little scary, but with watching vids and reading I can do it no problem. Only thing is that I'm not sure how long I am supposed to/can safely keep it. If I take the 7700k up to 5ghz and also OC the GPU would I only keep that for that gaming session then go back and put it back to normal? Or what is a safe OC that I can just leave there without causing the parts to wear out faster.

Also, I dont believe any of the monitors(except the dell) you guys have suggested have had Gsync. Does that mean I dont really need it? I wont really experience tearing and too much lag? Are there certain thresholds I should stay in so that I can avoid all that?
