So I have a dell inspiron 1764. And i have the 9 cell battery instead of the 6 cell. And when i bought it. It came with a 65 watt charger then the 90 watt charger. So now it cashes on the 65 watt charger when plugged in and using it. Should i go out and buy the 90 watt charger or can it be something else?

Wat does this mean???

Also, unless if you're battery is draining while plugged in under full load, there's no need to buy a higher wattage charger. My Macbook Pro 15in used a Macbook Air charger for much of it's life cause it's smaller and there's no issue, it just charges slower. This applies only for low wattage laptops and does not apply for high power consumption gaming laptops.

So it would just charge slower. I thought so but this is an older laptop. and what i mean is i cant charge it and use it at the same time. It crashes to a white screen. and have to hard reset it. Now i can charge the laptop without using it. And it works fine just on the battery. What i'm saying is i dont think 65 watts is enough power for this laptop to charge and use it at the same time.

It could be a power issue. Could be other issues. Find a store that has it and try. Cause normally if its not enough power, the laptop should still run while plugged in, but the battery will decrease rather than charge because the laptop needs to draw power from the battery. And that only really happens at max loads. If your laptop can't charge with the power adapter that could be another issue entirely.
