I am helping a buddy build a computer, i have all the parts listed out here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/JoJyJankins/saved/jZFrHx

He doesn't care if its flashy he wants it to be the best for his money so i'm putting my best effort on that, performance! My biggest concern is that the HDD might be a little to slow with these specs even though its a backup but i was thinking he could get an Optane module down the road if he wanted to. Also do you think the Mobo and the cooler would be good for an aggresive overclock on the 7700k?

it's not bad, but the NEX performs badly. get the bitfenix fury 750w, evga GQ/B2 for that price instead. also you won't feel the ssd speed in gaming or booting, just get the 240gb hynix SL308 instead.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Hi! Just games for your friend? Or some other workload?

For just games this is better value. Grab a huge SSD and don't worry about Optane modules until we see good reviews on them. Also get that mediocre af PSU out of there :P

Clearly because I didn't look at the board to consider SLI xD

But also because the Photon is T3, 750W and only $77. If not that I would give OP the Seasonic M12II EVO which retails for $62 in newegg or $56 in SuperBiiz

I'd go bitfenix fury rather than the photon though, those sleeved cables are too good to pass up xD

That'll be OP's preference, I'd rather not have to manage sleeved cables like that :P

But of course the Fury is a good PSu

Do not get a EVGA Nex... get a G2 or G3... the NEX is not a good PSU,

Also your better have having SSD's to increase performance, rather than a faster HDD
