I'm planning on buying Rogue One for my blu ray player but i wanted to hear if there is any difference between the 2D version that comes with the 3D version and the normal Blu-Ray version? Is the quality the same?

How are we defining 'quality'?  Keeping in mind that Rogue One was a stereo conversion rather than shot in native 3D.

Disclaimer: While I may work in the stereo conversion field, my employer and myself did not work on Rogue One.

I don't have a 3D player so i would plan on playing the 2D disc that comes included. My question is, is the quality on the 2D disc better than the ordinary blu-ray?

Oh this is one of those 2D/3D combo packs?

*Googles*

Yeah, this is a combo pack so it actually includes two discs, one 2D and another 3D.  The 2D disc is likely no different from the stand alone 2D disc that can be purchased.
