I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out, I thought I was going to get a laugh at his lack of knowledge on the subject and it turns he isn't conned by the marketing tricks and BS.   Still, he has some stuff to learn about audio, but the important stuff he got right.

 

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

I thought that was a fairly typical predisposition given the amount of false information and marketing we are subject to. I had never seen this bloke before and majority of the you tube videos I have seen about this sort of thing are loaded with comments that are just plainly wrong or half explanations that aren't entirely true.  Not too mention the myths people go on about.

 

Being a hardware guy If I added anything (I don't necessarily think anything needs to be added) it would have been an in depth look at the hardware (amp and speakers) limitations and the difference between labelled hardware and cheap hardware.

You haven't heard of Marques Brownlee before? How is that possible? Linus talks about him all the time and he was even a guest on the WAN-show.

Either way, the only common denominator of beats branded devices is that audio profile...

I grew up in a time when there was no internet,  consequently I learnt how things worked and how to do stuff without it, so with the exception of music I rarely watch youtube esp. channels like this. I only started watching the wan show about 2/3 months ago. 

 

I must admit it is a little embarrassing when you discover a video or celebrity and every one already knows about it from months/years ago.

MKBHD is the man to go to if you what to know about mobile tech, his video's are more informative then most on YouTube and he's got a great persona for the camera.  That's one of the reason's why so many people watch his video's, I first heard about Marcus from watching Lamarr Wilson (Google Plus).

That's just marketing :angry: , he's making some serious cash out of culture, not music.

 

I didn't find the other video, I don't go looking for that stuff, I get angry real easy sometimes.  What a f**kin tool. It pisses me off because All of those earlier artists and records they played are exceptional, very well produced, mastered to nth degree.  He must have just seen some dollars when beats started.  He may have a good ear for music but clearly not brains for understanding technology. :angry:
