(I'm new to PC building)

I'm planning to have a gaming PC around $2000 or less

I'm mostly looking for a fps based gaming PC

I currently have to monitor but I am planning to buy the Asus mx279h

I will be accepting advice

I'm upgrading from my PC because my current PC was on a budget, but now I'm going for a way better rig

Here's what I'm planning but if any advice comes I will take it in consideration

Drop the frequency on those RAM kits. Lose the SSD for a 120 and get a HDD for mass storage. With all the money you could try to get a 290X or even a 780Ti

BTW lose the H100i and get yourself a nice Glacier 240L

For the hell of it, get a better PSU.

Drop the 4770k and get a 4670k or an 8350.

Take the money saved and get a 780.

Drop the 500GB SSD, get a 120GB one for OS and get a 1TB HDD for mass storage.

Take the money saved from that and get a better quality PSU from the likes of Seasonic or XFX.

I would get a smaller SSD and put that money into a 780 or 780 Ti. I would substitue an H110/Kraken x60 for the H100i

You sure you need a bluray drive? Most people don't need optical drives in general.

It's probably for the OS. I had to use a DVD Drive to install it on my rig.

A usb drive is cheaper and reusable. Much more useful imo.

Also you can do that with an ordinary optical drive. Not sure why you want bluray. I know I wanted it when I was thinking of getting a pc but in reality, it's damn useless for the average user.

I'd suggest a better power supply and different memory.

Seeing you have a few to spare before you hit 2k, suggest going for a 780Ti?

The 780 Ti is not a good value.

I don't know If I'm gunna get hit with the "We don't promote this on the LTT Forums" speech, but you're paying $140 bucks for an OS? why not just torrent it?

Because it's illegal. We don't endorse pirating software on the forum.

If you're getting a 780, you better be getting a nice 1440p IPS panel as well.

Are you in a hurry to buy?

If not, I'd just recommend waiting for aftermakret 290's.
