Check out Jayztwocents on YouTube, he has some good videos for beginners.

As to what components you need, the EKWB Configurator is an excellent place to start. I would agree soft tubing for your first loop is a good way to go.

As a side-note, be realistic about the costs before you go down this road. Watercooling is not cheap, and there is no argument for it being a good value cooling solution. It's really for enthusiasts, and while it will net you the best temps and lowest noise levels (if done correctly), there is never a NEED for it. You may know all that, but thought I'd mention just in case. Good luck! :)

I am wanting to do my first custom water cooling loop, and I'm just looking for information on components, and putting it all together.

I was thinking I'm probably going to use soft tubing because its my first custom loop.

I did my first custom loop about 4 months ago, after about 3 months of researching and studyingxD. couldn't find some of the parts in the EKWB configurator(like my chassis, cuz i typed the name wrong) so I asked them for help and they showed me all the parts. ordered everything, received ecerything. setup =  3hrs + vodka + manuals = complete loop. vodka was for me, not for the loop.
