Can i charge my usb C phone with my usb C laptop charger?

Right now I'm charging my S8 with Lenovo's ThinkPad T480s powerbrick. IT does look fine. Phone is not heating up but I'm on a air-conditioned room so I have yet to see if it fries my phone.

Reviving this thread as this trends high on google... DO NOT do this. I was using the same setup as previous user, S8 with Lenovo's ThinkPad powerbrick at 9V/2A. At first no issues, charge was even faster than my Anker power charger. After some months I saw that the battery went instantly dead from 15%, sometimes 25% (jumping down 5% every second). Its somewhat inconsistent on how fast the discharge is, but its always bad at bottom levels.

 

I did not use any other "unusual" charger. The phone is 2y old. Only use chargers that by the book can charge phones as well. Maybe in some time, usb-c chips will improve, or manufacturers won't be greedy...
