I recently bought a high mega pixel camera. One thing I am trying to figure out is where to save money and not waste money and where to spend money on rebuilding my computer to handle the added file size. Some people say higher GHz and less cores and some say more cores. Some say higher ram and some say less. I know Lightroom has updated to allow the use of more cores. But I am curious what the best set up should be with today's light room and Photoshop. Also I started doing more video, so looking into also tackling video editing. Some of linus' videos I have heard him mention having a lot of cores for video. I just think that these types of videos would be nice and if your video/photo guys could talk about where to spare expenses and where to go all out. Sometimes it is the small things. Like ssds vs spinning drives. Etc. No one makes these in depth videos. The most I see is people tell you what their rigs are and what they recommend, but most of the time, it is outdated LR or PS that they are using. Or smaller file sizes.

Thanks for your help.

Brandon

I think you might need an i7 7700k or 6700k.

I'm not a video editor or photographer, but I tend to see people with a higher end PC for faster rendering, and smoother playback.

Photographer guy would always talk about fast transferring data, so he would always buy high end storage and flash cards/drives
