Hello!

I'm looking for a new CPU cooler for my i7-4790k.

I was originally on a Cryorig A40 but its pump failed and there are many prettier coolers on the market and I think an air cooler would be interesting.

I currently have my eyes on the Cryorig R1. However, I don't know where I order Customod from.

http://www.cryorig.com/r1-ultimate_us.php

I'd prefer something pretty.

I also have two Corsair SP120s left over from my CryorigA40.

Thanks!

Why don't they provide these links on their website? Or am I just blind?

Hello there!

May I recommend of a Cooler Master Master Air 4 CPU Cooler. In particular this CPU Cooler features of a black shroud, covering the topping of the heat sink, thus meaning it shall fit sleekly amongst other components. Furthermore, the included fan is of spectacular qualities being a MasterFan Pro 120 Air Balance, therefore meaning you previous Corsair fans could be relocated elsewhere within your chassis, so I would not imagine it will fail anytime soon unlike your pump.

However, always remember to check chassis height allowance for a CPU Cooler using a larger heat sink, as interference could potentially be met with the side panel, & width with your RAM.

Kind regards,

-EnergyEclipse

Will it be as good at cooling as the Cryorig R1? It looks much smaller.

Also, is it quiet?

From what I see, the Cryorig R1 is very close. However, I will check out reviews and such.

Do you know if the Cryorig R1 can support normal fans, such as my Corsair SP120s?

Thanks

The DRP3 is much quieter if that's what you're looking for.

Yes, the clips support fans with 120mm mounting holes. SP120's are a downgrade from the stock fans though.

Why not just ask Cryorig for a cooler replacement?

Cheers. What could I do with the Sp120s then?

The original broke, and they already sent out a replacement.

I think I could sell the A40 on Ebay. It is RMA'd and pretty much brand new.

You could just not use them. I personally have many fans just lying around.

They weren't really used much, and they are premium fans.

If you mean the price then sure, they're premium. SP120's aren't exactly amazing when it comes to performance or acoustics.
