Recommended hdd for console

Hello,

I am looking to buy a new hdd for use as an external with my xbox one and to continue using with the scorpio once it comes out. I currently have a seagate 3tb external that I bought a couple years ago. It has completely stopped working twice, the first time I was able to fix it by reformatting it but no matter what I try I cant get it to work now. It works fine with my pc but not the xbox. I buy all of my games digital and I don't like to delete and re-download them whenever I want to play something. So I would like at least another 3tb drive at the 7200 rpm area. I'm not sure of how the cache on the drive works, whether it would be good to have it bigger or if it doesn't matter if i'm only using it for an xbox. I have an enclosure that it can go in but i wouldn't mind buying a new one, the one i have uses what looks like usb 3.0 micro b female port and a port for the power connector. Whether it is just the hdd or an actual external I don't care I would just like to keep it around $150 with the absolute max being $200.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

You can actually get this 4tb one for under $200. Should be pretty reliable, considering it's made for data centers and also having 128mb cache is a nice bonus.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I know this was not your question but have you considered upgrading the internal drive yet?
Have you maybe formatted the drive to a filesystem your Consloe doesn't work with when you plugged it into your PC?

I personally have no experience with external hard drives so I can not really recommend anything, sry.
