So I'm thinking of upgrading my memory soon from my 16GB kit (4x4GB) of Adata XPG to a 32GB kit of G Skill

I don't know if it makes a difference if I get a 2x16GB kit or a 4x8GB kit.  My motherboard is also the Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5 running on the F5d BIOS (most up to date at this time) with an 1800X.  I was wondering if anyone has a 32GB kit they got working on this board as my previous kit had problems.  Thanks.

I'd say 2x16gb. Ryzen seems to have some issues reaching as high clock speeds with 4 dimms as it can with 2.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Yeah I figured as much that coupled with how they handled giving the motherboard manufacturers headroom.  My other 32GB kit was only running at 2133mhz on the old bios and was a 4x8 32GB kit and while I could boot to windows fine and run for a bit installing programs I would inevitably run into BSODs for days with a Memory management error.  I figured the G Skill kit might work in a 2x16 32GB especially since it seems to be designed to be compatible with Ryzen.

Oddly enough the kit of 4x4 16GB I have in there now at 2400mhz works perfectly... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
