Hey guys, i have a question.

My graphics card (gigabyte gtx 980ti) died recently and i'm now searching for a replacement.

I tend to the KFA2 GTX 1080, but im a little concerned about the upcoming Vega cards and the gtx 20xx cards since they are rumoured for 2017.

What you guys think, is the 1080 still worth ?

Thanks 4 your help

If you can make do without a GPU, yes, I'd say waiting is a good idea. But if you need a GPU right now, go for the 1080, it's an awesome card and it will still be when Vega or the 20xx series drop, like how even now the 980 Ti is almost as good as the 1080 in some games.

If you can grab a great deal then it is worth. I would suggest 1080ti if you cannot wait for Volta and Vega

is there any hint, when vega or nvidia 20 series will launch ?

I personally just picked up a gtx 1080. My plan of action is to skip the 20xx series and wait for Nvidias new volta gpus. So I will probably get another gpu in 2018, either that or try and make the 1080 last until 2019 (30xx volta or whatever they name it) when 4k should began to become a lot more common.

There is also the possibility that Amd will just release deals that are to good. It is obvious they there are better choice for monitors under free sync. You can pick up quantom dot (ips) monitors with huge displays and resolutions (1440 ultra wide, 1600 ultra wide, ect) free sync. For MUCH cheaper than any gsync monitor. So amd may have an advantage there once they release cards to power them. These monitors are new this year so you may not have seen them yet, just do some research. The only monitors that are gsync and match up are the Acer x34 and asus, which in some ways don't even match up and are more expensive.

I picked up a brand new msi geforce for 520 w/ $30 rebate = 490. Shop around. I would say new around 520 is still a great deal.
