First up, my setup:

I am running a NAS with more than enough storage (2.7 TB free space atm), which has a connected network drive. I disabled offline files.

When the issue came:

Well I have to admit what I did takes quite a lot of space: I tried to write an uncompressed 2 blu-ray rip of Ben Hur to my drive, while it should take up somewhere in the neighbourhood of 50-75GB, I do not think this should be a problem with 2.7 free TB. MakeMKV gave me an error:

"Error 'Operatingsystem error - A process was, because of a lack of free storage space on the Storagedrive, not executed. If it is a small volume, the physical storage space, that the volume saves, used up' occured while writing data to F:\Filme\Ben_Hur_Anniversary_UCE_t00.mkv at offset '25165582400'

Title 0 in File F:\Filme\Ben_Hur_Anniversary_UCE_t00.mkv at offset '25165582400 could not be saved

Note: trying to translate while keeping sentence structure is hard :/

All in all this seems to be a pretty generic "not enough space" error.

This confuses me since windows should empty the local cache when it fills up, especially since none of my drives seem to fill up during this process. In fact I have enough space for the movie on all of my drives.

Any ideas?

PC: 6700K, MSI Mpower gaming z170, gtx 1080, Samsung SM951 128GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 SSD, Samsung 850 evo 256GB, 16GB DDR4 RAM

NAS: Pentium G3260, Gigabyte GA-H97N WiFi, Crucial BX200 240GB, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 3 random 2TB harddrives

I do not see how any of this matters though

BTW I ripped the movie to my local drive and transferred it over, which oddly enough worked. So it is less a problem and more a curiosity
