Disappearing SSD????????????????

Hey all I am having a strange issue with one of my SSD's, It is randomly disappearing. If I reboot the system it will re-appear in disk manager and my computer. It is a new SSD, just bought it on friday, and all my other disks are working correctly.

Deffective? I did as well just update my entire rig over the weekend.

goto power managment options

advanced

set hdd to never sleep/power off

default is 20 mins no activity hdd shutdown

It is already set to off, and none of my other drives are having this issue. It is an Adate su800 480gb SSD, and its is a dynamic disk with my former OS drive a 120gb SSD.

hmmmm. whats your pci power options set to. sata is pci controlled. i would look through all power options and turn everything to no off or no savings mode then see if problem still persists

if it goes away turn one thing at time back to its original setting

This may be a clue, it has happened twice and both time were right after installing a game onto that dynamic disk.

I had this happen on an old Mushkin SSD I had and it was a firmware bug on the SSD. See if the manufacture has an updated firmware you can flash to your controller on the SSD. This likely will resolve the issue.

Try using a different sata cable as well as different sata port then.
