Going to order parts soon just wanted a few "second" opinions. I currently only play CS GO and rocket league but hope to play games like BF4, R6S, GTAV, etc. I imagine the 470 will do fine and the 4430 will hold up.

Build: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/mpGjKZ

Looking for better part or cheaper with same/better performance on or off of partpicker.

-I'm taking the CPU (i5 4430), the Intel cooler, and maybe my hdd out my current build for an extra drive.

-I'd like even a crappy cooler but I'm trying to skimp and not sure if the $10-$20 is worth it. I have no intentions of over clocking my CPU.

-Recently my PC has been getting A LOT of "low on memory" errors and I'm not sure if 8gb just really isn't enough or it's it's cause I have shitty ram, so I added 16gb of the cheapest ram.

-I'll probably upgrade in the future but probably nothing too big so I imagine 500 watts will be enough.

-Not sure about the case, I want to save money by just not getting one but I'd like to be able to clean up the cables.

GPU: Same/better performance as 470 for same price or cheaper. I found a 470 on newegg for $180

If you change the build I'd like it to remain around the same price if not lower but depending on what you added/changed I may be able to stretch it.

Hopefully I included everything I needed in this thread.

If you already going with the 470 why not spend the extra money for the 480... its only like $10-$20 more

Thanks for the suggestion. performance/dollar is almost the exact same if I were to get the 470 for $180 but I'm going to go with the 480 anyway.

EDIT: nvm, not sure, going to look at other sites because getting a 470 or a 480 would cost a lot more then I first thought at least from newegg.

Still just looking for some input on the general build and plan.

The stock cooler is fine.

8GB is still enough, 16GB for future proof.

500W is enough but the PSU is mediocre.

Thanks for the reply.

I think I'm going to get a CM hyper t2, maybe not who knows.

3 sticks of 4gb. Along with memory shortages I like to do vfx so the extra ram will hopefully help a bit.

The shipping on newegg is too much for me to get a 480 and I'm not sure if I'd be able to redeem the MIR as it end on the 31st.

Yea I didn't expect it to be great but as long as it's decent an last a few months/year I'm fine.

I'm probably going to settle with this https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/JGvZPs It's the same thing(afaik) and I got the price down so shipping isn't so annoying and I could add a little if needed.

I'm hopefully going to order tomorrow so hopefully I can make up my might :P

The temperature difference is minimal between the t2 and the stock cooler

If you can carry over a hard drive from your old build, why not drop the 1TB hard drive and get an SSD instead. A 120Gig SSD would be enough for the OS and some games - a 250Gig SSD would be even better.

You can drop the thermal paste and put that money towards a SSD. The stock Intel heatsink comes with pre-applied thermal compound, so it isn't necessary to buy extra.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

I'm not buying a cpu, I'm taking the cpu and cooler from my current pc, so i'd assume I need to clean an reapply.
