Hello there I am having some issues with my PC, at random intervals either it be 30 mins or 1 hour + the screen randomly goes black. It does not matter if I am just searching the web or playing a highly demanding game it still goes off. I'm not sure what could be causing this and I have tried uninstalling the Display Drivers within Device Manger and then reinstalling them.

http://prntscr.com/ep4q9o <-- Specs

Dual monitor Set up; x2 BenQ GL450HM 24 inch

Nividia Driver Version; 378.92

Power Extension; https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M1EBU6S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also the PC is still running whilst the black screen occurs both screens turn off (x1 HDMI and x1 DVI), I don't think dust could be an issue as I tend to keep my PC nice and clean.

Anyone have any good advice that can help with this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

HI Idnis,

Here are some things which might work.

1. check if windows power settings are at default (balanced powermanagement)

2. check if monitor doesnt have a sleeping mode or something like that (screen time out)

3. Check if video source settings of monitor are at the source you are using (instead auto detect) sometimes this gives issues. (this should be either at HDMI or DVI in your case.

4. Check if youre using the last driver version.

5. if the problem did not occure with earlier driver versions try to rollback the driver.

Let me know if this work or not, im happy to help :D

Edit: are both monitor and computer powered from this Power Extension? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M1EBU6S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hey @Jarno. thanks for the quick reply just tried everything except the 5th one you recommended that most likely will become a last resort.

I just reinstalled my GPU drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and currently waiting to see if my PC will act up again.

Will keep you posted and also thanks again really appreciate it!
