How big is the bottleneck

Hi

I have an i5 2300 2.8 and have 12 gb ram plus a geforce gtx 960 4gb strix oc and i was planning to upgrade my gpu to a nvidia gtx 1080 8gb and then get a i7 2600 or a -K

Will it be a big problem if I install the gtx 1080 first then after a time an i7?

Problem: no. But why getting  1080? What resolution?

the i7 will bottleneck it in certain cases, for a lower res or CPU bound applications, but it'll be fine in other non CPU bound applications

At what resolution you planning to play? Like 1080p, 1440p, 4K... etc

Well at least higher than 1440p but I don't want to sacrifi much fps

what fps do you want??? cause if it's 120hz yea 1440P, if 60hz, 4K with a 1080ti will be close and where it isn't, run 1440P on the 4 monitor, can't hurt

I have many monitors from normal,expensive, cheap, with lowest 60 hz and i want at to run at least 60 fps on all things

60hz is child's play for a 1080 in every case bar 4K, you don't need a 1080 to get 60hz on 1080p or 1440p try a 1070

But how about IF I wanna change the cpu to a better one since I have a i5 2300 with socket 1155

sorry if you wanna change the CPU that will reduce any bottlenecks when it comes to CPU bound games, but not remove them completely, but with a 1080 you nearly get 60hz on 4K never mind 1080p so there is less of a point there.

 

if you want a guide there is plenty online if you need one (your wording isn't the clearest there sorry)

if your upgrading to an i7 and getting a 1080, you may as well buy an entire new system, getting an R5 and a 1070 as that will work just fine for you and will have no bottlenecks
