Overclock

Can I overclock Intel Xeon X5650 @2.66GHZ on my Z400 computer. It has this cooler : https://www.amazon.com/HP-Z400-Performance-Heatsink-463981-001/dp/B018TBYDGS

Xeons are locked and not overclockable 99.9999% of the time unless you have a BIOS that supports BLCK overclocking which should be locked, but you may be able to find a BIOS out there on the web that would allow you to do this

in short terms, no you can not overclock your Xeon. They are locked CPUs.

no, Xeons are a locked processor and not capable of overclocking.

they are doing it with BLCK, or base clock. There are some BIOS's out there for some boards that had this unlocked before intel got on them for it.  You would need to locate one of these.

I see, thanks for answering my question. I still didn't test this processor, how does it run on latest games like the Witcher 3?

 

Btw can I use the Turbo Boost mode on this?
