So was going to upgrade my computer last year, but with the recent death of my old SSD I decided to make preps to upgrade my computer hardware now since I can just start fresh with a new install of Windows 10.

Going from an Intel i7-3820 to Intel i7-7700K, ASUS X-79 Deluxe to ASUS Maximus IX Hero. Keeping my BD Drive, Corsair 780T Case, Corsair 1000W PSU and eVGA 1070 GTX. Looking at the new features on this board ASUS Aura Sync caught my eye as I've love to have my case flash random colors for different things or whatever crazy thing I come up with. My question is how do Aura Sync RGB case fans connect to the motherboard, does it get inputs from the motherboard's CHA_FAN connectors or do I need to get an adapter for the RGB_HEADER ports? Also side question, is there any ASUS Aura Sync compatible AIO water coolers on the market yet (if not I think I might go with a Corsair or Cooler Master standard AIO water cooler since I find most of the air coolers a pain to install and offer little benefit over water cooling).

As far as I know there only fans that support "simple" RGB compatibility are the MASTERFAN PRO 120 from cooler master. You need to connect them to the standard fan header for the actual fan + the RGB header on your motherboard.

Still no aio water coolers for asus sync, the closest thing is if you get the new maximus ix extreme with the waterblock itself syncing up. The cooler master pro 120's are great but the middle of the fans stick out a lot so you will need washers if you want to use them for pushing air out of the case. Haven't gotten a chance to try the Akasa Vegas x7 which also say they sync up.
