Stable overclock help

Hi, few months ago I overclocked my 960, but then some games were crashing or textures were bugged. So I had to set it back to stock settings, but now I want to try it again. How long and which benchmark should I use to ensure that the card is stable? Some people say half an hour is enough, others say you need 8 hours so I am bit confused...
