Need help! CPU upgrade, not turning on!

Hi everyone,

So, I'm a bit late in the game, but figured I'd try messing with some computers. I bought a Dell Precision t3500 with a Xeon W3520 in it. Since the sockets are the same, and the motherboard ( DP/N: 0XPDFK) supports it, I decided to upgrade to a six core Xeon x5670. I had already upgraded the bios to update A17. But to my dismay, it would not boot. Any suggestions?

After searching this says : LGA 775 for the motherboard :

0XPDFK CN-0XPDFK and LGA 1366 for the Xeon x5670 . It can fit but it will definitely not work.

So it finally booted. The Xeon X5670 IS supported. I just had to change the system settings in BIOS to default, run a diagnostic, and the set up Raid Detection to ATA. Works amazing now. Windows booted and I am currently running two 21.5" 1080p monitors off of the system after I installed A Saphire RX 480 8gb card. Passes the three benchmarks I've run so far easily, though it isn't setting any records. Thanks for the help.
