Does bus speed on memory matter?

Yes, but if it is higher than the supported mobo speeds, it will just lower to that.

faster the mhz will make gains  in ram intensive tasks iirc, not so much games, the max mhz supported by the motherboard is the highest the ram can run at. For instance i got sent 2400mhz ddr4, where my mobo only supports 2133mhz, so it always runs at 2133mhz
