So until recently I longed for an Nvidia GPU for Shadowplay. Shadowplay was seamless in recording, and even if you weren't recording you can save the last 10 minutes of gameplay with the click of a button.

Personally I have an AMD GPU and OBS Studio using AMD video encoders on an older i5. (3450) I played some Rainbow Six Seige today using the buffer (records last 10 minutes of gameplay with the click of a button even if you didn't press record.)

It's YouTube quality(looks pretty good, no too bad) and it's super easy and addicting now that I have it, and know how to use it!

Do you have any alternatives, or special moments you recorded or missed?

I remember back in the day Fraps was all the buzz in terms of screenplay recording. Perhaps you play counter strike or played Quake back in the day where the engine remembers player position, rotation and whatnot to reconstruct entire battles with little data, and processing power, maybe making Machinimas. (Machinima means animated movie, and is more than a black hole youtube channel haha!)

Yeah haha, I was referring to CSGO having it, but the original Quake engine also had it apparently way back in the day. I think it was the Gaming Historian that went over it. Quite a nice video to watch if you ever get the urge.

Haha. I completely understand about fraps. Is it paid? I always thought it was free but never could figure out how to get it to work, so then I heard it was paid but a lot of people just Pirate it. (Don't say how you acquired Fraps, legitimate or not. Not trying to get you banned lol.) I use OBS because Barnacules did a fantastic tutorial on it, and then I found a tutorial today for buffering (record old gameplay in ram, and save it to HDD if you decide to.)

i got it from the shady pirate guy dealer at some website 9_9

it is free but as a trial (well, only 30 second recordings)

if i had to pay for it, novideo shadowplay or OBS would be my next choice of recording software

But I won't be able to fold anymore

Ahh, yeah I don't know a single person that paid for it.

Also presuming you meant Nvidia Shadowplay.

Anyone use MSI Afterburner's recording software? There's a plugin for it or something.
