Lightweight notebook for college

I am going for college and need something for taking notes and studying. I have a budget of 250U$ (i have spare for a micro sd 64gb, mouse and sleeve) can someone give me help on recommendations?

get a old thinkpad with i7 2nd gen or 3rd gen.

That Lenovo N22 is not high performance whatsoever, idk why it's advertised that way.  My son has one given to him by the school and I could grow a beard faster than it could render the most simple of images.  I must admit, it is snappy because of the flash storage.  Get the Lenovo N22.

No, the battery life won't be as good.  The keyboard is usable on the N22, I can type fairly quickly on it with minimal noise.

My son says it can.  It should be able to, but the screen is okay-its a pretty low end TN panel.

The Chromebook is probably snappier and gets better battery life than any Windows machine at that price range.
