Hi

this has probably come up before. I have an external drive with loads of music ripped onto it. When i try and play these on latest computer with windows 10 most will not play.

I have looked about and it seems its a DRM issue, microsoft site says its looking into it.

Having ripped the music on Xp, using windows media player into WMA files, i'm more than a little annoyed that current windows media player will not play the files.

Is there a way round this other than ripping the CD's again?

Can i do anything about this?

I am the legal owner of the music CD's/files and either Microsoft or the music industry is stopping me access these files. What can i do to challenge this?

Regards Judgeozz

The WMA file format is very bad, most devices cant read it and there are DRM issues. Next time you rip a CD with Media player I reccomend change it to MP3. The reason DRM is there is to prevent people distrobuting there CD's online etc.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
