This is my first gaming pc build plan. This build is mostly for gaming and Maybe a little bit of recording and editing. I'll plan on playing fps games like cs go,overwatch and bf1 and some open world games like gta V and Ark survival all at 1080p and on a 144hz monitor. I also need recommendations for a monitor that supports a 1070 strix and 1080p 144hz

Around 1.2k usd

you may want to consider saving money buying used parts off ebay or craigslist if possible. my rig shouldve been over 1.1k but will only cost me slightly over 600, I saved money going for used RAM, Motherboard, and Processor, and I would recommend the power supply that's on the way to me now.  https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K6BxPs

Well I was think about that but I'm not sure it worth the risk.

go used for ram, vram, motherboard, cpu was the conclusion I came to from watching their videos

i wouldn't buy a used hdd or sdd.. or psu because of their importance and cheap price.

I may buy a gtx 1070 used for the same price as a rx 480 after rebate, partially because I'm a slight fan of nvidia.

You could save 20$ by taking Seagate Barracuda instead of WD Black. Not an expert on the quality though.
