hello my disk has been stuck at 99%-100% when i play games and it sows the crud out of my computer and ruins my overall fps, is it time for me to upgrade disk to ssd or is there something that i can do? (currently have hdd)

 

when i do ctrl+alt+delete it shows disk in red column with 99%

what process is using all the disk?

then you should make sure windows is updated, if it is, then there is a different problem. Reinstall windows if it is fully updated. If a windows reinstall does not fix it, your hdd is probably bad and you should get an ssd.

Crystal disk info (see if hard drive is in bad condition or failing)

safe mode, malwarebytes

press the disk to sort it from disk usage and tell us the process and tell me what process is using it

 

it most probably is a virus

I encountered that issue before and  the Service Host: Local System  process screwed things up. I followed this steps and drove down my RAM and disk usage to the normal levels:

 

"Open up a run dialog by holding down the Windows Key and pressing R. In the "Open" field, enter "services.msc". Look for "Windows Search" and "Superfetch."

Go to each of these entries. Right click on one and select "Properties." In the dropdown box labeled "Startup type," choose Disabled. After leaving the properties window, press "Stop" in the upper left corner. Do this for both. "
