Btw, before I say anything and you can say anything bad about me, keep in mind this is my bros build and he asked me to approve it even though people of LTT will know more.

He wants a $2k CAD build with taxes and shipping included.

Here's his build:

Get Windows somewhere else cheaper

G710 is really nice, personally have it but too big and I love G610 aesthetic more

You need BIOS update if using a B150 chipset

Also got you a 1440p monitor instead

1750 with a 13% (highest in Canada) tax is around 1977 CAD

Pls add a ssd. Why would someone build a 2000 dollar build without a ssd boot drive. That basically a crime at this point. You have a super fast system that will end up running slow because of the hard drive.

I would suggest using a latest gen chipset motherboard.

An ssd will make a big difference. That can be done by dropping memory to 8GB, which is sufficient for most titles.

Consider getting an IPS panel monitor.

The case comes with a single fan. That really isn't sufficient for decent airflow.

Tell him that it's better to spend an extra $50 for a better build now, than having to spend $200 on upgrading stuff in a year or two

My suggestions were CA$16 more than the OP.

If one is going to be anal on a budget at least supply the ACTUAL pre-tax and shipping amount.

In case you don't know, Canada has numerous tax rates and shipping varies widely across this second largest country in the world. And surprise, surprise not everyone following here hails from the true north.

PCPartPicker will tell S&H but the tax is 13% ($1765 CAD before taxes)

You want a quad core for gaming. Or a Ryzen 5 (4c8t or 6c12t) if the Ryzen 5 benchmarks are good (the gaming benchmarks)

He can upgrade later on though. This is his 'Going to School, but mainly for my heavy tasks (Cough cough, Overwatch)' PC.
